The meeting assembled core forces from across the industry chain, including operators, chip manufacturers, card vendors, testing institutions, and application and service enterprises, engaging in in-depth discussions on key topics such as technical adaptation, certificate management, cross-operator compatibility, and industrial synergy platform construction, to jointly deliberate on pathways for scaled development of eSIM IoT.

At the meeting, participating units comprehensively reviewed current pain points in eSIM IoT industry development:

First, insufficient industrial synergy. Operators, card vendors, and chip manufacturers have yet to form efficient synergy mechanisms, with inadequate complementary advantages in the supply chain, constituting a critical bottleneck constraining industry development;

Second, constrained scenario implementation. The openness of new IoT scenarios remains limited, with relatively few supported device categories, impeding scaled eSIM implementation;

Third, non-unified management and standards. Domestic "one project, one certificate" management requirements conflict with terminal manufacturers' global unified production models, easily causing production and material management chaos. Concurrently, non-unified cross-operator testing standards substantially increase commercial transformation difficulty and extend testing cycles;

Fourth, imperfect circulation mechanisms. eSIM disposal processes for second-hand devices are imperfect, with restricted usage scenarios for second-hand users, affecting both second-hand device circulation efficiency and the full protection of user rights.

In response to the above pain points, the meeting consolidated industry consensus and clarified four priority advancement directions:

First, unifying technical specifications. Lead and participating units will jointly formulate interface, protocol, and security requirements for eUICC chips, terminal modules, operator platforms, and certificate management, promoting end-to-end standardization;

Second, constructing a collaborative testing platform. Integrating testing institution resources and unifying test cases, providing one-stop services for product research and development, network access certification, and commercial verification, establishing a unified eSIM IoT product catalog, reducing industry chain testing costs and enhancing adaptation efficiency;

Third, improving full-linkage security certification. Relying on national cryptographic algorithms and international security standards, collaborating with chip manufacturers and SIM card producers to establish a full-linkage security certification system covering chips, terminals, and platforms, safeguarding data security and user privacy;

Fourth, enhancing circulation service capabilities. Launching online eSIM status inquiry functions, enabling multi-channel verification of number quantity, network access frequency, and device binding information, standardizing second-hand device circulation, and optimizing user activation experience.

The eSIM Special Committee will continue to play its bridging and bonding role, tracking industry dynamics, coordinating industrial resources, and deepening technological innovation, assisting the domestic eSIM IoT industry in entering a new stage of "standards co-construction, ecosystem synergy, and pain points co-resolution," enabling eSIM technology to better serve Digital China construction and empower the new era of intelligent interconnection for all things.

in April 2026, the eSIM IoT Industry Thematic Seminar, hosted by the GIIC eSIM IoT Technology Special Committee,

[44

post-4405","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-44
https://www.giiconsortium.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/WechatIMG2.jpg",1920,1280,false
https://www.giiconsortium.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/WechatIMG2.jpg",1920,1280,false
https://www.giiconsortium.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/WechatIMG2.jpg",1920,1280,false
https://www.giiconsortium.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/WechatIMG2-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://www.giiconsortium.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/WechatIMG2-300x200.jpg",300,200,true
https://www.giiconsortium.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/WechatIMG2-1024x683.jpg",1024,683,true],"1536x1536":["https://www.giiconsortium.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/WechatIMG2-1536x1024.jpg",1536,1024,true],"2048x2048":["https://www.giiconsortium.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/WechatIMG2.jpg",1920,1280,false
https://www.giiconsortium.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/WechatIMG2-18x12.jpg",18,12,true
会员动态
["GET
