From June 26th to 28th, the highly anticipated 2024 Shanghai Mobile World Congress (2024 MWC Shanghai) was grandly held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. During the event, the Hetao International Organization Headquarters (hereinafter referred to as "Hetao Headquarters"), as the first and currently the only international industrial and standard organization cluster in China, made its collective debut. It comprehensively showcased new platforms, capabilities, and advantages, becoming a focal point of attention from all sectors.
Currently, international standard alliances have become one of the key forces driving the new round of information technology development. At this exhibition, with the official establishment of three major alliances, including the Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium (GIIC), the "1+6" international industrial and standard organizations of Hetao Headquarters were fully assembled. They hosted three major themed activities: the 2024 International Industrial Organization Innovation Development Forum, the 2024 Hetao International Organization Night, and the Hetao Headquarters booth, promoting standard innovation and industrial development in related fields.
As an international, industry-driven, and non-profit social organization dedicated to advancing the Intelligent IoT industry, the Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium (GIIC) focuses on advanced technology, standards, and open source to drive the smart transformation of massive IoT products and the digital development of the industry. The Consortium adheres to the principles of "Openness, Integration, Sustainability, and Win-Win Cooperation," leveraging open-source operating systems to aggregate the industrial ecosystem, build a technologically leading IoT standard system, and promote high-quality development in the Intelligent IoT field.
At the 2024 International Industrial Organization Innovation Development Forum, the Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium (GIIC) and other alliance representatives delivered insightful keynote speeches on industry development trends and technological innovations, offering a rich intellectual feast for the attendees. They also jointly released a joint initiative for international industrial organization collaboration, further accelerating the formation of the Hetao international industrial and standard organization ecosystem and promoting multi-level and multi-faceted international exchanges and cooperation.

The Hetao Headquarters booth was rich in content and bustling with visitors. It showcased GIIC standard testing tools, products implementing the GIIC protocol, and information boxes supporting GIIC, attracting numerous partners and audiences from around the world.
It is reported that the Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium (GIIC) has established a comprehensive standard system for smart home interoperability. To date, 33 standards have been initiated, with 19 completed and 14 under development. These standards cover various aspects of smart home interoperability, including connectivity, security, testing, AI, and engineering. GIIC has developed device SDKs, cloud SDKs, and APP demos, compatible with mainstream smart home operating systems. Additionally, a complete product certification system has been established to ensure the quality of GIIC products, and GIIC testing tools have been developed to assist enterprises in supporting the GIIC protocol.

Currently, the GIIC smart home interoperability protocol has been implemented in various smart home products, including modules, chips, smoke detectors, switches, air conditioners, and water purifiers. Cloud services from telecom operators like China Telecom, China Mobile, and Guochuang have also adopted the GIIC protocol, offering a wide range of product categories with broad application prospects. GIIC has established a joint working group with the Open Source Foundation to build the GIIC-Open Harmony Ecosystem open-source linkage mechanism, and the GIIC 1.0 Wi-Fi SDK has been simultaneously released to the OH code repository and GIIC open-source group.

"The GIIC protocol has been applied in the first batch of digital home pilot projects by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. Beijing Changsheng Garden has adopted GIIC as the core technology for achieving interoperability among home products, creating a fully smart home scenario and connecting services such as elderly care, security, and dual carbon goals," said a relevant person in charge.
The successful hosting of the 2024 MWC Shanghai provided a valuable opportunity for the Hetao International Organization Headquarters and the Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium (GIIC) to showcase their capabilities and expand their international influence. Based on open-source and open operating systems, and linked by an open and interconnected standard system, GIIC will strongly support the development of China's smart terminal industry by promoting breakthroughs in the innovation capabilities of the entire industry chain, enhancing industrial agglomeration benefits, assisting in product and device testing and certification, and strengthening international exchanges and cooperation. Additionally, GIIC will help elevate China's voice in the global smart terminal standards domain, fostering an international multilateral cooperation platform for standard research, industrial development, and academic exchange.
