On December 3, 2025, at the GSMA Innovation Forum held in Shenzhen, Mr. Hu Caiyong, Secretary-General of the Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium (GIIC), delivered a keynote address on the "Mobile AI Era,"sharing four major trends in which AIoT convergence is reshaping future industries, and elaborating onGIIC's core initiatives in promoting intelligent interconnection for all things.。

Trend I: Deep Integration of AI andIndustrialInternet of Things (IIoT)
AI serves as the core driving force of the industrial Internet, empowering intelligentization, automation, and real-time decision-making in manufacturing, fostering collaboration among software, hardware, and connectivity providers, and supporting hybrid AI ecosystems with edge-cloud synergy. Simultaneously, it imposes higher requirements on chip performance and operating system real-time capabilities.
The Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium (GIIC) promotesthe collaborative development of the OpenHarmony and RISC-V ecosystems through the establishment of the OpenHarmony/RISC-V Sub-Committee.This initiative not only addresses the demands arising from the deep integration of AI and IIoT but also leverages the advantages of high-performance RISC-V chips and OpenHarmony's real-time capabilities to better adapt to the developmental imperatives of the AI era.
Trend II: Evolution of AIoT Toward "Intelligent Interconnection for All Things," with Terminal AI Becoming Mainstream
AIoT is evolving from "interconnection of all things" toward "intelligent interconnection of all things." In this process, AI is deeply integrated into the perception, connectivity, and execution systems of the Internet of Things, and is migrating toward the edge and terminals, thereby enabling local real-time decision-making and significantly reducing reliance on and latency from the cloud.
The Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium (GIIC)has established the Smart Home Special Committee and the AI Working Group (in preparation),focusing on the interconnection and interoperability of smart homes, as well as standards and certification for terminal AI, promoting the convergence of terminal AI with operating systems such as Home Harmony and Mobile Harmony, and accelerating the evolution toward intelligent interconnection for all things.
Trend III: Platformization and Ecosystem Collaboration in AIoT Becoming Inevitable成为必然
As the AIoT industry chain grows increasingly complex and technological innovation accelerates, platformization and ecosystem collaboration have become inevitable choices for industry development. Enterprise competitiveness will depend on their positioning within global distributed intelligent networks and the value interfaces they possess.
The Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium (GIIC)has established the HarmonyOS Ecosystem Promotion Committee and the IoT Standards and Industry Promotion Committee, providing HarmonyOS standard certification and ecosystem collaboration platforms, and releasing a series of standards and certification achievements. Concurrently, it focuses on IoT standards construction and ecosystem implementation, promoting high-quality development of the IoT industry.
Trend IV: Deep Integration of AIoT in Livelihood Domains Such as Smart Cities
The value of AIoT is explosively manifested through vertical industry empowerment and cross-boundary convergence, particularly in the smart city domain. Through real-time data acquisition and analysis, intelligent decision-making and optimization, AIoT can effectively enhance urban management efficiency, resource utilization rates, and citizens' quality of life.
The Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium (GIIC)plans to establish the Urban IoT Perception Technology Special Committee, constructing a comprehensive urban perception standards system, expanding urban IoT perception application scenarios, promoting deep cross-domain industry integration, assisting cities in achieving digital and intelligent transformation, and providing unified data support and solutions for urban governance.

The Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium (GIIC), as an international industrial and standardization organization registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, is dedicated to building an international "IoT + HarmonyOS" industrial platform, leading the four major AIoT development trends, and accelerating the construction of a new ecosystem of intelligent interconnection for all things. To date, it has assembled 340 member units, including 14 council member units, 38 vice president units, and 288 ordinary member units, encompassing numerous industry chain participants such as chip manufacturers, equipment manufacturers, system integrators, application developers, operators, internet platforms, national think tanks, and universities, injecting continuous momentum into the construction of a new ecosystem of intelligent interconnection for all things.
