First Council Meeting and Second Members' Conference of the Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium Were Successfully Held in Shenzhen on November 22, 2024.

The meeting was chaired by Secretary-General Hu Caiyong. Representatives from forty director members attended to discuss a series of important issues during this council session.

Professor Liu Ying of Beijing Jiaotong University delivered an address at the request of Chairman Zhang Hongke, who expressed: "I hope everyone can actively contribute their ideas for discussion into the alliance's work. Let us gather together with our industry partners’ strength so as to build world-class IoT solutions that support the development of new intelligent interconnection ecosystems."

Since its establishment, membership has grown rapidly; today’s council discussed and approved applications submitted by one hundred and four new members covering software, IoT, smart hardware, fintech, intelligent manufacturing fields among others which inject fresh vitality toward promoting standards within industries along with popularizing application knowledge about IoT technology. As such, there are now one hundred fifty-two total members including nine vice chairmen units like China Mobile, China Telecom, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, PetroChina Kunlun Manufacturing, China Building Research Institute, Haier, Huawei, JD, SGS etc., thirty-one directors unit, and one hundred twelve regular members.

At this council meeting, it was deliberated and agreed upon to release three series of unified interconnection standards for Harmony Ecosystem devices, promoting the interconnectedness, interoperability, and coordinated development of equipment within the Harmony Ecosystem.

Following that, members discussed the key focus areas for the alliance's work over the next 3-5 years, clarifying the direction of future development for the alliance. This further promotes the global layout of the Harmony Ecosystem, provides world-class solutions for the Internet of Things in the future, and builds a globally influential and credible industrial platform.

After the board meeting, GIIC held its second member conference with participation from more than 100 domestic and foreign members.

GIIC is committed to building a new industrial ecosystem of intelligent interconnection, It has established both the "Internet of Things Standards & Industrial Promotion Committee" and the "Harmony Ecosystem Promotion Committee." At the event, Secretary-General He Xiaoyu comprehensively reported on the achievements of 2024 as well as the plans for key priorities in 2025. Subsequently, each committee presented detailed reports. In terms of the Harmony Ecosystem, efforts are concentrated on constructing southward eco-system standards and northward eco-partnerships while striving towards unification of the Harmony Ecosystem device through events like the Harmony Ecosystem Conference aimed at enhancing brand influence. Regarding the IoT Standards & Industrial Promotion Committee, driven by dual wheels—technology and industry chains—it focuses on user experience alongside the Harmony Ecosystem Promotion Committee’s technical interchange, resource complementarity, and collaborative growth domestically but also seeks international expansion aiming to offer world-class solutions for the future IoT landscape.

At this members' congress, the alliance solemnly held a plaque awarding ceremony for vice-chair member ,director member and regular member.

In addition, the representatives of the membership voted to adopt the "Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium Membership Dues Management Measures (Draft) ."

The successful conclusion of this board meeting and members' congress signifies that the Global Intelligent Internet of Things Alliance has sounded the call to action for "IoT + Harmony." In the future, the alliance will continue its vision of Co-Creating a New Intelligent IoT Ecosystem. Together with all member institutions, it aims to jointly promote the global spread of Intelligent internet of things technology.
