
On April 18th, the fourth meeting of the first Board of the Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium (GIIC) Council was successfully convened in Chengdu. The meeting was attended by GIIC Chairman Zhang Hongke, GTI Chairman and former Deputy General Manager of China Mobile Group Gao Tongqing, GIIC Secretary-General Hu Caiyong, and representatives from 41 Director members, including China Telecom, China Unicom, China Mobile, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), Huawei, Haier, Midea, and others, through both online and offline means.The meeting reviewed the achievements of the consortium since its inception, clarified the work plan for 2025, and deliberated and approved the consortium's budget and work plan. It also agreed to the establishment of the Strategic Consulting Advisory Committee and held a plaque presentation ceremony for the newly added Director members.

I.Review of Consortium's Work Achievements
The Deputy Secretary-General of the consortium, He Xiaoyu, reported on the current progress of the consortium. Since its official establishment in June 2024, the consortium has completed organizational restructuring, institutional standardization, and industry aggregation. Core businesses such as standard setting, talent training, and industry promotion are also being carried out in an orderly manner and have achieved fruitful results.

- In terms of standard setting, three standards in the direction of unified interconnection of Harmony ecosystem devices have been completed. Six additional standards in the direction of unified interconnection of Harmony ecosystem devices and Harmony software development toolkits have been approved for initiation.
- In terms of talent training: Members such as Shenzhen University, Zhonghui, and Yueqian have been invited to join GIIC. The consortium has steadily conducted training for Harmony native application developers, explored the certification of instructors, and currently has 21 certified Harmony application training instructors. It has held 24 sessions of Harmony native application developer training, with a total of over 10,000 developers trained.
- In terms of industry promotion, successful industry promotion events have been held in Wuhan, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Xuzhou, and other places. The consortium has also guided the implementation of open-source policies in places such as Shenzhen, Wuhan Donghu High-Tech Zone, Chengdu Jinjiang District, and Changsha Economic Development Zone.
- In terms of external cooperation, the consortium has engaged in exchanges with the China-ASEAN Center, Star Flash International Alliance, OpenAtom Open Source Foundation, China Open Instruction Ecosystem (RISC-V) Alliance, National Smart Standardization Committee, Shenzhen Furniture Industry Association, and local governments of Shenzhen, Chengdu, Wuhan, Changsha, and other cities.
- In terms of membership development, China Unicom and Midea Group have been added as Vice Chair members. Jiangsu Runhe Software, Xiamen Dinaic Intelligent Technology, and Beijing Yunzhong Rongxin Network have been added as Director members. To date, the GIIC consortium has 11 Vice Chair members, 33 Director members, and 136 Regular Members, bringing the total number of members to 180.

II. GIIC's Work Plan for 2025
Subsequently, Deputy Secretary-General Liu Hua shared the detailed work plan for 2025.

Facing 2025, the consortium will continue to improve the governance of the GIIC consortium, optimize its operations, and focus on strengthening the standard system, certification system, talent system, and brand capability enhancement. This will support the prosperity of northbound Harmony applications, the commercial implementation of Harmony in vertical solution fields, the improvement of Harmony application experience, and the promotion of Harmony solutions in industry applications.
The specific work includes:
- Promoting the northbound Harmony application ecosystem and enriching Harmony-enabled scenario applications;
- Strengthening the Harmony ecosystem conference IP, launching academic forums and overseas cooperation;
- Enhancing the publicity and promotion of members and facilitating supply-demand docking among industry partners;
- Strengthening Harmony talent training to provide talent support for members;
- Promoting industry cooperation, guiding industry policies, and creating new business opportunities for members.

III. Council Deliberation: Establishment of the Strategic Consulting Advisory Committee
The council deliberated and approved the consortium's budget, the 2025 work plan, the six standard initiation applications of the Harmony Promotion Committee, and the establishment of the Strategic Consulting Advisory Committee.
The Strategic Consulting Advisory Committee will bring together academic authorities, industry leaders, and tech innovators to provide strategic advice for the consortium's overall development. It will guide the consortium's technical direction and development strategies, promote connections with open-source organizations, academic bodies, and industry groups, and enhance industry exchanges and academic linkages within the consortium. The establishment of this committee will help the consortium navigate the complex and changing market environment, seize opportunities, and stay on the right track.

After listening to the reports on the consortium's achievements and the 2025 work plan, the council members engaged in discussions and shared their views on the consortium's work and development. GTI Chairman and former Deputy General Manager of China Mobile Group Gao Tongqing, as a special guest, also shared his valuable experience.
The active participation of the Director members demonstrated the cohesion and centripetal force within the consortium. The discussions and sharing not only enriched the consortium's decision-making perspective but also provided a diversified approach for innovative practices, laying a solid foundation for the consortium's future development.
