The wind is favorable; now is the time for Harmony Ecosystem!The first Harmony Ecosystem Conference was grandly held in Shenzhen Qianhai on November 23rd, 2024!More than 2,000 ecological partners from around the world attended together at one place as they shared an incredible feast of science and technology.

This conference focused on the theme of "New Ecosystem, New Opportunities" using both physical attendance along with live online broadcasting open to users worldwide across industries such as organizations within the industry itself alongside their respective ecosystems & developers.

As a gathering centered upon the Harmony Ecosystem aimed globally towards industrial development events are branded activities promoting communication cooperation among international ecological partners. It serves not only as a platform but also provides opportunities through which enterprises specializing in native applications based on Harmony Ecosystem, Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), Operating System Vendors (OSVs), chip manufacturers, smart terminal makers, internet companies, universities, developers, end-users amongst many other institutional partners can engage each other while showcasing what's available – becoming windows into announcing standards pertaining to Harmony’s ecology fostering growth and prosperity anew.

At 9:00 AM Beijing time, the conference officially commenced. Huang Qiang, the director of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, delivered a speech, highly praising the development of the Harmony ecosystem and expressing his anticipation that the conference would further promote its prosperity.

Xu Zhijun, the rotating chairman of Huawei, delivered a keynote speech titled "Building the Harmony Native Ecosystem Together, Creating a Vast Industry Galaxy." He elaborated that Huawei is a pioneer and trailblazer in the Harmony ecosystem. HarmonyOS NEXT is a distribution developed by Huawei based on OpenHarmony (the open-source version of Harmony ecosystem), and other companies can also develop their own distributions based on OpenHarmony. The Harmony ecosystem is built and shared on the unified foundation of OpenHarmony. Xu Zhijun introduced that the Harmony ecosystem distributed plus microkernel architecture is a new generation of operating system technology that aligns with the direction of industrial development. He emphasized that the Harmony ecosystem still needs to deeply promote Harmony ecosystem native into various "capillary" fields of application, while strengthening industrial cooperation and collaboration, allowing more partners to participate in the joint construction of the Harmony ecosystem. Moving onto discussions under themes like “Building Industrial Harmony Ecosystem Ecologies Together, Painting Grand Blueprints for the Intelligent Era,” China Mobile Group Corporation Deputy General Manager Gao Tongqing spoke about leveraging technological advancements and openness embracing Harmony Ecosystem via initiatives like BASICS6 plan creating Yi Hong AOS driving autonomy control. He emphasized challenges scaling up open-source Harmony Ecosystem eco-system proposing standardized, scalable eco-system integration calling out for wider support participation catalyzing collective wisdom harnessing collaborative innovation powerfully propelling IoT technologies forward.

Following that, the Global Intelligent IoT Alliance (GIIC) held a grand launch ceremony, with attending leaders and alliance representatives witnessing this historic moment together. Xu Zhijun, the rotating chairman of Huawei, Gao Tongqing, the deputy general manager of China Mobile Group Company, representatives from the alliance's vice-chair members, and guest representatives took the stage in sequence to initiate the ceremony and lead the way forward. This signifies that the alliance will join hands with more ecological partners to jointly embark on a new chapter of IoT technology innovation.

After the ceremonial launch concluded, distinguished guests continued delivering insightful presentations. 

Ma Encheng, the Chief Scientist at China Academy of Building Research Co., Ltd., proposed that through the collaboration of government, industry, research, and application, the application and development of Harmony ecosystem in the construction industry should be promoted to create a digital and intelligent construction industry. By jointly building a new track for the construction Harmony ecosystem industry, it aims to enhance the level of construction technology and innovation in China, and to collectively prosper the construction Harmony ecosystem.

Tang Hongwu, co-founder and CTO of Air Travel Interactive, shared how Air Travel Interactive combines the distributed architecture and other technical features of the Harmony operating system to provide users with personalized and convenient travel services.

Weng Xindang, the head of terminal technology at Alipay, shared the successful launch of Alipay's Harmony ecosystem version APP, millions of mini-programs, and the "touch and go" feature, among other cases. He detailed the unique advantages of the Harmony ecosystem compared to traditional operating system ecosystems during the actual development process.

In the keynote speech titled "Deepening Industry-Education Integration to Cultivate Harmony ecosystem Talents," Li Dongni, the vice dean of the School of Computer Science at Beijing Institute of Technology, discussed how to cultivate high-quality talents who can adapt to the development of emerging technologies such as Harmony ecosystem through the deepening of industry-education integration strategies.
